Colorado Springs Wedding at Garden of the Gods Resort
As a Colorado Springs wedding photographer, I’ve documented weddings at many jaw-dropping venues with breathtaking views throughout Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. But when Brittney and Jesse told me they were planning to say “I do” at Garden of the Gods Resort, I knew this was going to be a celebration to remember!
I photographed Brittney and Jesse’s engagement photos back in 2019 and, as luck would have it with everything going on in the world and cancellations of their venue back home, their search led them to Colorado Springs and I was lucky enough to be available to photograph their wedding too!
“Jessica was amazing to work with throughout the entire wedding process! We got the opportunity to work with Jessica for our engagement photos in 2019 and were completely obsessed with our photos. So, when COVID kept changing our original wedding plans in Michigan and we decided on a small wedding out in Colorado we knew we had to have Jessica photograph our wedding. She was always so quick to respond to texts/emails with any questions we had and was more than willing to go above and beyond for us. She is fun, professional, and makes the whole experience comfortable and easy. We couldn’t have dreamed of a better photographer to work with and capture our big day in Colorado Springs!” – Brittney and Jesse
Their Wedding Day at Garden of the Gods Resort
Vendor team: Photographer: Jessica Puckette Photography • Venue, Cake, and Catering: Garden of the Gods Resort and Club • Hair and Makeup: The Day Colorado • Florist: Rhonda Nichols Flowers • Officiant: One for Life Weddings • DJ: All Star DJs
From the moment we arrived until the newlyweds raced off into their happily ever after, I couldn’t get over how amazing of a space Garden of the Gods Resort was for their intimate celebration with their closest friends and family.
As the bride had her hair and makeup done surrounded by her bridesmaids by the talented team at The Day Colorado. I couldn’t help but marvel at their attention to detail as they helped Brittney and her bridesmaids get ready for the day head! When I arrived, everyone even told me about how there had been a deer exploring just outside of the door leading to the lawn – how amazing to have a little wildlife mixed into your wedding day?!
I always advise couples to be sure that they have a getting ready space that not only has great natural light for photos but also gives you plenty of space to relax and feel at ease before you walk down the aisle. The rooms that Brittney and Jesse were in at Garden of the Gods Resort absolutely delivered – and he even had a big TV for everyone to watch football on, which you know was a crowd favorite!
As we were preparing for Brittney and Jesse to have their first look, one of those classic Colorado afternoon thunderstorms began forming over Pikes Peak and made the most beautiful, blue backdrop you could ever imagine. After they saw each other for the first time, we put in work to accomplish photos of all of the bridal party before the rain hit and we made it just in the nick of time! Everyone huddled inside and just before the ceremony was set to begin, the skies cleared and allowed them to have their ceremony without a hitch on the Garden Terrace area of Garden of the Gods Resort. Their officiant, One for Life Weddings, crafted a breathtaking ceremony for the two of them filled with both tears and laugher and the beautiful backdrop was just the icing on the cake.
For the reception following their ceremony, we enjoyed the food made by Garden of the Gods Resort’s amazing staff and two of their best friends gave toasts before they headed back out to the Garden Terrace for their first dances. All of the dances were so special, but the way that Brittney and her father cried during their dance tugged hard at my heartstrings. Following that, their DJ kicked it into high gear and began the party. I absolutely love the dancing photos that come from receptions but it’s not often that couples get to celebrate in such a beautiful outdoor space as the light fades behind the mountains!
Adventure Wedding Photos at Garden of the Gods Park
Since their engagement photos took place in a national park, it was only natural that the three of us woke up before the sun the next morning for some epic wedding portraits at one of my favorite spots in Colorado Springs. It never gets old to see the morning sun light up Pike’s Peak and to capture couples exploring in the beautiful red rock formations! Definitely worth the wakeup call and, again, big props to the team at The Day Colorado for waking up right along with us to touch up her hair and makeup!
Congratulations, you two on your marriage, and I am so happy that the stars aligned for us to work together again!
