Bozeman Elopement in Gallatin National Forest
From the moment they got engaged, Bailey and Lucas knew that splurging money on a stress-filled traditional wedding day just wasn’t right for them and knew they wanted to have a more intimate elopement in Montana with their loved ones and their dog, Mocha, along for the celebration!
Planning Their Elopement in Bozeman
When I shared some of my favorite Montana elopement locations with them, Bailey and Lucas instantly fell in love with the idea of having their elopement in Bozeman and couldn’t get over how beautiful the mountains in the Gallatin National Forest were. It was also important for the two of them to be able to find a dog-friendly Airbnb that could house just about everyone in attendance, which was a little challenging to do in the week following July 4th but they found the perfect place in Big Sky!

Hyalite Canyon Ceremony and Portraits
We ventured from Big Sky to the Hyalite Canyon just outside of Bozeman for their intimate ceremony and we got so lucky with the weather! The rain held off for us, the sunlight was beautiful, and the ceremony put on by Lucas’ father was beyond thoughtful and heartwarming.
We took a variety of family photos before everyone departed and we got to take some breathtaking pictures of the two of them and Mocha. As I almost always mention, having overcast / mostly cloudy skies is so wonderful in the mountains because it really brings out the blue colors in the mountains and they don’t get washed out in the harsh sun! Some of my favorites were the ones of Lucas spinning Bailey and both of them loving on Mocha.
Celebration at Their Airbnb in Big Sky
Bailey, Lucas, and I reunited with everyone back in Big Sky for toasts and cake cutting before I took off for the evening! They got the cake at a local place in town and Lucas’ mom actually arranged the flowers on the cake herself, too! I seriously couldn’t get over that she managed to do such a fantastic job of helping them have beautiful flowers on their day. And it’s so special to have family help with that too!
