Summer Wedding in Rocky Mountain National Park

Summer Wedding in Rocky Mountain National Park

Cameron and Paul reached out to me a year out from their Summer Wedding in Rocky Mountain National Park so we could plan the perfect day… and secure a coveted ceremony permit. Only 60 permits per month are issued during the summer which makes timing everything to ensure you get one!

These two met during high school through the cross country team and the rest was history after Paul asked Cameron on a run for their first date. Years later when they began planning their wedding, they realized that something more traditional, like getting married in front of 100+ people, didn’t feel comfortable. The two of them decided they’d much rather have a small wedding with family, truly an introvert’s dream! Since they also have a natural love for being outside and adventuring, having a wedding in Rocky Mountain National Park seemed like a no-brainer.

The original game plan was to get up before the sun and do a hike, but forecasted morning showers and storms led us to shift our plans and opt for a more comfortable experience exploring the park! An early start was still on the agenda and we got to have fun with lanterns in the beginning before it got light. I loved the custom national park sign they got off of Etsy to commemorate their wedding day in Colorado! Once we wrapped up photos at 3M Curve, we ventured to a picnic area so they could enjoy a yummy mimosa together before their ceremony began. Around mid-morning, their family met us at Hidden Valley for their wedding including a ceremony conducted by Morgan’s grandma, a delicious cake, and fun family photos.

Paul and Cameron’s wedding in Rocky Mountain National Park is such a perfect example of how beautiful and intentional a small wedding can be with just your immediate family. And then they had the rest of the day to enjoy Estes Park before they flew out for their honeymoon!
